HP ENVY 17 Laptop PC 17-ch2000 (4U9X6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I'm trying to set up 2 external monitors and still use the monitor on my laptop. With my product listed above how would I do this so I have a total of 3 separate screens?  On my two separate monitors I can use a HDMI or VGA cables.  Any help would be appreciated.

@Smittys

I don't know what is your HP ENVY 17 Laptop PC 17-ch2000 (4U9X6AV)  machine BUT it should have same ports as the following machine

             HP ENVY Laptop 17-ch0002nl

You can connect 2 external monitors (and keep notebook screen - total 3) using

  • M1: Direct HDMI cable to HDMI monitor,
  • M2: Using a monitor with Thunderbolt™ 4 connector OR Thunderbolt™ 4 to Display Port adapter.

Regards.

Thanks Banhien for your help but here is my model number again and also the port information for that model.

HP Envy Laptop 17-ch2045cl (646R0UA)

Ports
1 Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB Type-C® 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate (HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate; 1 AC smart pin; 1 HDMI 2.1; 1 headphone/microphone combo
My 2 external monitors are SCEPTRE HDMI 75Hz that only have a HDMI or a VGA connection port in the back of the monitor.  Is the Thunderbolt 4 connector still the correct connector/adapter to use for the second monitor?  From looking at the pictures on the internet it doesn't look like those would work for my monitors.?  Thanks for you help.
