HP Notebook - 17-x105ds
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP 14 F-1000 LAPTOP I cannot figure out how to activate the keyboard backlight.  I bought this because it boasted a lit keyboard - however there is no backlight button.  I have spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to activate it. Any ideas?

A backlit keyboard was an option on some 14 F-1000 laptops.

Not all models in the series come with a backlit keyboard.

If your specific model 14 F-1000 has a backlit keyboard, the F5 key should have a keyboard icon with light rays emanating from it.  That should be the key that activates the backlight.

See chapter 2, page 12 of the service manual.

If you don't see a function key icon like that, then your notebook doesn't have a backlit keyboard.
