Product: HP Pavilion 27xi 27-inch Diagonal IPS LED Backlit Monitor
Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have successfully connected my MacBook Pro to an external monitor (I need the extra screen for work efficiency). I was given a Pavilion 27xi monitor, the manual says to connect HDMI>HDMI but my laptop is not recognizing the monitor. I have an adaptor that has connects to from the built-in USB-C port on the laptop to a multi-port adaptor with a USB-A, USB-C & HDMI ports. What type of cable do I need to get so my laptop will recognize the external monitor? I tried HDMI>HDMI but it is not being recognized.
