How to connect HP Spectre to External Monitor

I have the non touch screen HP Spectre, has 3 thunderbolt connections in the back. Im wondering how to connect a Wired External display. 

What accessory do I need?

How do I do this on the unit itself (I didnt see a project to external monitor in the display options )?

It has Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge) . Therefore you can use USB-C to connect. What is your monitor ? Does it have Display port or HDMI port ? You can use USB-C to HDMI (or DP) to connect. For example

I do not have any error messages.  My laptop has only three ports at the back. They are USB 3a ports.  No external moniter port.

How can I connect a external moniter ?
