Hi,
Just bought this new laptop - this is the new model with Ryzen 5600H - and realized that it does not have a displayport connector, only HDMI. I want to connect it to my 4K monitor's displayport - is that possible? Does this laptop support video via USB C port? If yes what cable/adapter do I need?
Thanks a lot,
Sea5

You can use a HDMI to DP cable to connect. Cable should be similar to the following cable. Its HDMI port may not support 4K monitor
I can't say more because I do not know the model/product of your machine.
Regards.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for not including the exact model id of the laptop.
This is the exact model I got:
HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2021nr 15.6" Platinum Collection Laptop Computer - Black
AMD Ryzen 5 5600H 3.3GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6; 8GB DDR4-3200 RAM; 512GB Solid State Drive

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c07060711
It has1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Power Delivery not Alt mode therefore you can NOT use it to
- charge your machine using USB-C charger
- connect it to an external monitor with/without hub/adapter/dock
It has 1 HDMI 2.0 port. You can connect to a 4K monitor @60Hz.

Thank you, this is very helpful.
So my issue is that my 4K monitor has an older 1.4 HDMI input that supports 4K@30Hz only. To get 4K@60Hz it needs to be connected via displayport. This laptop does have HDMI 2.0 that can do 4K@60 Hz but apparently a it's not so simple to get HDMI 2.0 converted to displayport. DP/HDMP cables are one directional, the can only connect DP output to HDMI input but not the reverse. Looks like 4K@30 Hz is the best I can get out of this setup.
