Good morning,
I’m trying to figure out how I would be able to connect 3 external monitors to my laptop since the USB-C is just for data. When I bought it I was really clear about this and now I can’t use my docking station because the USB-C doesn’t read video. Can someone help me please? What can be done to connect them ?
thank you

@Tainah, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
In this model notebook, you may use the HDMI port to connect an external monitor. I suggest you use a docking station to connect multiple monitors.
For more info on connecting external monitors, you may refer to - Using Two or More Monitors with One Computer
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi! That was my first question and I didn't get an answer. I have a USB-C docking station that I used to connect 3 monitors on my previous laptop. Looks like at this model the USB-C port is just for data. So how can I connect a docking station on this laptop?
Thank you in advance

Apologies for the miscommunication. Yes, this model has one USB-C port that only supports data transfer. Unfortunately, multiple monitors cannot be connected to this model notebook. You may connect one monitor using the HDMI port.

It may or may not work. You will have to use it at your own discretion.
As for using the docking station, I recommend you get an externally powered docking station as it wouldn't have to rely on the laptop for its power source and hence, would provide better performance with an without the adapter connected to the laptop.
The Type-C docking station can run smoothly but you might have noticed that it could turn off completely if many devices are connected. When it is about two monitors, the monitors require higher resolutions and power while the docking station requires it too. The docking station might have an option for it (like an AC adaptor to fulfill the power requirement).
Hope this helps.
