hey, my hardisk/hardrive damage (1000gb) and i replace it with a 500 gb harddrive. I then reinstall windows 10 and notice i lost my touchscreen and audio. So i went in device manager and try to scan for hardware changes and updates but that didnt work so i check for hidden device and saw that the touch driver is hidden and i click the properties and code 45 it said in the description.
Moveover i decide that i need a audio drive and a touchscreen drive so i went on this website and enter my product name and it gave me a set of driver to use. i saw the audio driver but not the touch....i then download and install the audio driver and went in device manager and update the audio using the new driver i download....so i thought that the same goes for touch but could not find any touchscreen driver.
It can be something diffrent but if im correct: i would like to get a touch screen driver from hp, i hope this peace of information makes your work easier and your help is much appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that you have an HP Notebook - 15-ay103dx. I read that you need the touchscreen drivers for Win10 and presently the touchscreen is unresponsive due to the absence of the drivers. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
- You need to check if your Touchscreen has been disabled or that the drivers need to be installed..
- To do so, check the Compliant Touch screen settings in Device Manager.
- Using your mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search.
- Type in Device Manager in the search box and hit enter, and then click Device Manager, when it appears as an option. You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice. Device manager window will open.
- Scroll down to Human Interface Devices (HID) and expand tree by clicking on arrow head to the left of HID.
- Scroll down to HID - Compliant Touch Screen.
- If there is a red cross next to the entry, right click on it and select the enable option. This should restore the touchscreen. (the picture above is just to show where it is, if it is disabled, enable will show as an option not disable as is shown in the example)
- If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the entry, right click on it and select the Update Driver Software and follow the prompt Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software. This should find and install the driver software for your Touchscreen.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Hey, The firmware method didnt work.
I gather some important information that i think concludes the problem
what is firmware update?
A firmware update is a software program that can be used to update the firmwarein these devices. For example, a user could download a firmware update for a network router that enhances its capabilities or fixes an issue. Firmware updatesare available from hardware manufacturers.
Now the reason this didnt work because their no driver to update and firmware updates update drivers.....(the driver could be missing because i replace my hardrive)....
i have some proove to bring out the point that my driver could be missing.
The image above shows where the driver is located...so that means their is files to run this 'usb input device'.
This image above shows the touchscreen has no driver files.
the phrase in the blue circle says "no driver files are required OR HAVE BEEN LOADED FOR THIS DEVICE".
All of the drivers are located in system32 and maybe, because of replacing my hardrive and reinstalling a new window the driver for the touchscreen is gone from the laptop.
Im very confident that all i need is a touchscreen drive. so please please please help help me....if im wrong it must be something else....thanks once again.

You're welcome. Thanks for replying with the information.
Usually, for a touchscreen there is a firmware update and not drivers. Before we take the next step, please try running a hardware test on the touchscreen. The following steps will help:
- Shutdown the laptop.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
Figure : Selecting Component Tests from the main menu
-
The Component Tests menu displays.Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
Figure : Sample list of Component Tests
- Please initiate a Touch Screen Test - Quick interactive test to determine if the touch screen is functioning correctly. To run the test, click Touch Screen, and then click Run once.
If the option to run a touchscreen test is absent then please download and install the UEFI diagnostics menu. Please restart the laptop after this menu is installed. Re-try to un the hardware test on the touchscreen.
If the touchscreen hardware test passes, then I suggest you to install the original Windows operating system that came with the laptop. The original copy will have all the drivers inbuilt into it. You could order the recovery media online at the HP website or by contacting our HP phone support team.
Hope this helps. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂
