I replaced my touchscreen because my previous screen was cracked.
This is my 2nd replacement within a month because after I installed the initial replacement touchscreen I purchased, it did not have pen and touch capabilities. I immediately thought that I was sent a different product than was advertised. So I purchased a new replacement touchscreen from a different vendor. The same thing is happening.
I decided to do some troubleshooting. In the process of troubleshooting, I determined that my HID-compliant touchscreen and pen drivers were hidden. When I selected to show hidden devices in the Device Manager and saw they were grayed out. I right click on each to see that they were installed. I checked to see if they needed updating. However, they were up to date and still grayed out. I thought I could uninstall both and install them back. However, when I uninstalled them, they were removed.
Is there a way for me to reinstall or download the drivers I removed. I am hoping I can determine if my 2nd purchase is actually a touchscreen or not before returning this one.
I'm about ready to give up.

Hi @Ronvmc05,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
You’ve done your bit of copious and extensive research before posting your query in the HP forums. Kudos to you for that.
- It looks like a driver issue with the computer’s touchscreen which is missing.
Please perform a hard reset from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768
Then please run complete F2 system diagnostics from this link to ensure that the touchscreen hardware is fully functional: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03467259
Once it is established that the touchscreen diagnostics passed, please visit this link for further assistance: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03488148 Then please update the bios, chipset, and graphics card drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers if available. (The bios may not be available. Please update the drivers that are available for the chipset and graphics card.)
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
