Usually just tap the tip on the screen gently to activate it- in a app that accepts pen input of course. You should also have HP Pen Cotnrol to change the functions of buttons on the pen.

Thanks for your quick reply but it is not working. Are there video or instruction sheets that you can link it to me?
I saved a file in PDF file, and then opened it to sign but I'm unable to get it to sign it. The screen does not respond to the pen.

I have never been able to sign a pdf. If I send it to a .docx file or OneNote I can use the stylus. To determine for sure that your sylus is working open Windows Ink Workspace. If the icon isn't in the system tray near the time/date-right click the taskbar and choose to show Windows Ink Workspace button.
