I have an external monitor plugged into my Spectre x360 and therefor only need to use the laptop as a keyboard and touchpad. I'd like to flip the screen under the keyboard in order to save desk space. However, when I do this, the keyboard and touchpad are disabled. This makes sense for use as a tablet but not for my purposes. When I flip the screen just past 180 degrees, I'm presented with a dialogue box that asks "would you like to switch to tablet mode" to which I select "no", yet the issue persists. There must be a way of disabling this "feature"
Thanks

@NikolaiM Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you would like to disable the keyboard and touchpad
Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.
Step 1:
-
Press Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.
-
Find Keyboards in the list of devices and click the arrow to expand it.
-
Right-click on the internal keyboard and click Disable.
-
If there is no Disable option listed, click Uninstall.
-
Click File>Exit. Your laptop’s internal keyboard should now be disabled.
Note: If you had to choose Uninstall instead of Disable in step 4, the keyboard will be automatically detected and re-installed if you ever have the Device Manager scan for new hardware for some reason. If that happens you’ll need to repeat this procedure in order to uninstall it again.
Step 2:
-
Press Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.
-
Click to expand Mice and other pointing devices.
-
Right click the touchpad and click Disable.
Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -
Step 1 Windows Updates -
1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant
- In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
- Check for updates.
- If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
Hope it helps.

Thank you for the reply but that is not what I'm looking for. When I flip the monitor under the keyboard, the the keyboard and touchpad are disabled. I DO NOT want them disabled because I need to use them with the external monitor I have plugged in. How do I stop the keyboard and touchpad from being disabled when the monitor is flipped past 180 degrees?

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
