I need to get rid of the permanent light on power up/turn on button. When I shut of all the lights with Fn+F5 i does not affect the power button which light is still on and it's REALLY annoying! Thanks in advance for your advices!

The power light is there to indicate that the computer is on.
So this indicates if the computer is working ...
You mention the keys that change the brightness of the screen, or switch to another screen, I don't have the exact function fn f5
There is no way to turn off the led, it goes off if the computer is turned off, if not, you have a particular problem.

What exactly do you want to remove it for?

Hi,

I do not believe it is possible to turn off this led.

Maybe your local computer technician could perform a hardware fix.

You could get a nice little sticker.

Hope it helps,

David

Yes, that's what I say @iomare
the only option in my opinion would be to disconnect the led if it is possible
but it is a very bad idea, because it can be used to know the state of the computer.

Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code

It should be activatable deactivatable on demand, but unlikely that this is possible!
I ask the reason, because in general it is a very small led, it is not that which must bother the most!

Hello,

Alright!

Sounds like you're being ironic, thanks for nothing. 🙂

It does not,

I wanted to get rid of it, because I wear glasses and when I work at night it's very annoying to see this button that is two times brighter than screen on lowest brightness.

It just irritates me, that notebook I paid two my monthly incomes have this flaw, that can't be fixed (plus that once in a few hours task manager freezes and for a minute refuse to do anything even though RAM is not full and everything seems to be ok). And due to Covid situation and legislation in my country I can't really give it back to store. F**k it.

Sorry @Unnecesarry   I can't answer for @iomare who says pretty much the same thing ..
But for my part there is nothing ironic here.
You are making a request about a rather important led , this last, it is a fact cannot be deactivated just like that, that is what I explain!
I'm just asking you to explain why you want this, as I've had a few laptops in hand, and haven't found it disturbing, unlike what it can sometimes be for a desktop computer.
I also explain to you that it would not be judicious to withdraw it, because it can allow in certain cases, to identify certain problems ...
Sorry if you do not like the answer, but it is a good intention.

[edit]

I don't know why I haven't seen your last message
I understand better now
I don't know if it will be simple, but rather than disconnecting it, since it is the only solution that we can give, why not try to apply a small sticker, to reduce the brightness

Yeah, No bad intention.

I can understand darkness

Look at one of my printers even have the whole display covered (just use it with the PC)

I believe covering or hardware fix is only option.

Take care,

David
