Hi @TheFade1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry you're facing this issue during your Zoom meeting. Let's work through some steps to resolve the "camera blocked" message and unlock your camera.
- Have you checked if any privacy settings or permissions are restricting access to your camera?
- Does the camera work with other applications, or does this happen only in Zoom?
- Are you using any external privacy covers or software that could be blocking the camera?
Let's try these steps.
Check Zoom Camera Permissions:
- Open Zoom and go to Settings > Video.
- Ensure the correct camera is selected in the Camera dropdown menu.
- If no camera is listed or it’s still blocked, proceed to the next steps.
Verify Camera Privacy Settings in Windows:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both turned On.
- Scroll down to check if Zoom is enabled under the list of apps.
Ensure the Camera is Enabled:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras and check if your camera is listed.
- If it’s disabled, right-click on the camera and select Enable device. Test Zoom again.
Close Other Applications Using the Camera:
- Sometimes, another application might be using the camera, preventing Zoom from accessing it.
- Close all other apps, such as Microsoft Teams or Skype, and restart Zoom.
Update or Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click your camera under Cameras and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- If updating doesn’t help, select Uninstall device, restart your laptop, and let Windows reinstall the driver automatically.
If the issue persists, it might be worth checking for Zoom updates or reinstalling the Zoom app to ensure it's not a software-related glitch. Or you may have to contact Zoom support if the issue persists with zoom.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
