My cpu lets me log into my profile but it goes to a black screen from there. Is there anything that can be done to help?

Hi,

Try the following.

Boot the computer normally and log-in.

At the black screen, old down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

Select Task Manager.

Click on File and select Run new task.

Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for 'Create this task with administrative privileges' - and click Ok.

When the system restore interface has loaded, pick a restore point at least 48 hours ( and preferably before August 12th 2014 ) before the log-on issue first occurred and then proceed with the system restore.

Regards,

It went back out a few days later, It has been sitting for 2 years now. It died during a bios update. When it powers on it only shows a black screen, I have tried almost everything still nothing.
