Product: HP ProBook 450 G8 Notebook PC (1A893AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have exactly the same problem as the one reported at

where no help was offered. Also in my case the laptop is brand new and the camera used to work, but at some point it stopped. The light next to the webcam turns on but the image is a black square.

Besides the attempts described in that thread, I also tried rolling back the driver from Device Manager in Control Panel, but it made no difference.

 

Please HP give some suggestions. It's not OK to have a new laptop on which one cannot use the webcam, it makes the laptop almost useless.

Probably it has a lens cover (works similar to a lens cap on normal cameras - my notebook does have). Please simply slide the cover of the lens.
