Hp Spectre 360x

I have an hp spectre that I occasionally use with a (hp) dock into two monitors, one with displayport and one with hmdi. While using just hdmi earlier I turned the laptop off, and turned it on later. Laptop came up with a winpeshl.exe window and a blue back screen. I closed the window because it was bugging out, now the computer screen is completely black. The computer is on and running, power button light signifies on and I can hear it, however it wont turn off, or display anything whatsoever. Ive held the power button down for 5, 15, 30 seconds whatever, and it wont do anything. Earlier on in the blackscreen I pressed the button to activate the keyboard backlights and it worked, but now it doesn’t. Laptop is less than 2 years old

Hi @calumvc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

To better assist you - Were there any recent changes made to the computer?

While you respond to that, try these steps to perform a power reset on the computer -

1. Shutdown the computer.
2. Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3. Remove the Battery.
4. Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
5. Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer.
6. Try to turn on the computer.

If the issue still persists, try restoring the computer using these steps -

1. Shutdown the computer.
2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.
4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.
5. Click on Troubleshoot.
6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Restore.
7. Choose a Restore point or a Restore date when the computer was working fine.
8. Click on OK to initialize the System Restore.

Also, try testing the hardware using these steps -

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4. Click Extensive Test.
