- My hp envy 360 laptop screen got cracked without any due cause. It was in my back as usual and one day when I opened the laptop there was a small crack in bottom right of the screen. After this, the crack has spread to the top right of screen. Now the touchscreen is not working properly. Device warranty has expired two months ago.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your HP Envy X360 laptop. If the screen has cracked without any apparent cause, and the device is no longer under warranty, here are some steps you can consider:
1. Check for External Causes:
- Examine the laptop for any signs of external pressure, impact, or stress that might have led to the screen cracking. Sometimes, small impacts or pressure points can cause damage over time.
2. Contact HP Support:
- Even if your warranty has expired, it's worth reaching out to HP Support to inquire about potential solutions or options. Explain the situation and inquire if they offer any out-of-warranty repair services or if they can provide guidance on getting the screen replaced.
3. Third-Party Repair Services:
- Look for reputable third-party laptop repair services in your area. They may be able to assess the damage and provide you with an estimate for the cost of screen replacement.
4. Check Insurance or Extended Warranty:
- Review any insurance policies or extended warranty plans you may have for the laptop. Some policies cover accidental damage or provide extended warranty coverage beyond the manufacturer's warranty period.
5. DIY Replacement:
- If you are comfortable with DIY projects and can find a compatible replacement screen(part number N09667-001), you might consider attempting to replace the screen yourself. However, this can be challenging, and it's crucial to follow proper procedures to avoid causing further damage.
Important Considerations:
Back Up Data: Before sending your laptop for repair or attempting any DIY fixes, ensure that you have backed up your important data to prevent potential data loss during the process.
Verify Repair Costs: If you decide to pursue repair, make sure to obtain quotes from different repair services and clarify the total cost, including parts and labor.
Consider Future Protection: Once the screen is replaced, consider using a protective case or laptop sleeve to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
It's unfortunate that the damage occurred, and I hope you can find a suitable solution for repairing or replacing the screen. Always exercise caution when attempting DIY repairs, and if in doubt, seek professional assistance to avoid further damage.
