Please help. Hp laptop used to display content perfectly via usb-c to hdmi hub. Just stopped displaying and detecting external (2nd) monitor. Have tried multiple monitors, cables, etc. Seems like issue with laptop.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

I see from your post that you need assistance connecting your HP laptop to an external monitor. Don't worry I'll be glad to assist you.

 

As you have mentioned in your post that the monitor works on another PC, You have checked the Monitor cable as well as the laptop works on other computer, this definitely looks like a possible compatibility issue. Before you come to any conclusion, I would suggest you try these steps here: 

 

For now please try these steps:

  • Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
  • Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
  • Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphic drivers
  • from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers  (Please enter the product number and then select the correct Operating system).

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

If it still does not fix the issue, please perform the relevant steps for HDMI-related issues from this link: HP PCs - Troubleshooting HDMI Display and Sound Issues (Windows 10, 8, 7)
