Hi,
I am planning to buy a 4k screen to connect to my laptop, however it would require the hdmi 2.0 standard, and I don't know whether the laptop supports this standard, or what version of hdmi it supports at all.
Thanks

Hi! @Dafuquer, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you are buying a 4k TV and you like to know if you can connect the TV to your laptop using HDMI connection.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

I have checked the specifications of your laptop usually most of the HP laptops shipped between 2011 to 2015 was shipped HDMI 2.0.

So when you buy a 4K TV you should not have problems connecting it using HDMI connection.

Refer this article to know more information about connecting your PC to TV using HDMI connection.

Also, refer this document to know the difference between HDMI and DVI connections.
