Hi @Ethan116,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand how concerning it is when your laptop powers on but the screen stays dark — no welcome logo, no flicker, just a faint glow of confusion. Let’s walk you through a few key steps that can help bring your Pavilion 15-cw0xxx back to life.
Step 1: Test with an External Monitor
Let’s see if your laptop’s display is the issue or if the system isn’t initializing at all.
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable.
- Power on the laptop.
- If nothing appears, press F4 or Windows Key + P a few times to toggle through display modes.
- If the external display works, your laptop screen may be faulty.
- If it doesn’t, the problem may be deeper (e.g., graphics or motherboard).
Step 2: Perform a BIOS Restore:
- Shut down the computer, and keep the charger plugged in
- Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
- Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
