Hi @Ethan116,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how concerning it is when your laptop powers on but the screen stays dark — no welcome logo, no flicker, just a faint glow of confusion. Let’s walk you through a few key steps that can help bring your Pavilion 15-cw0xxx back to life.

Step 1: Test with an External Monitor

Let’s see if your laptop’s display is the issue or if the system isn’t initializing at all.

  1. Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable.
  2. Power on the laptop.
  3. If nothing appears, press F4 or Windows Key + P a few times to toggle through display modes.
    • If the external display works, your laptop screen may be faulty.
    • If it doesn’t, the problem may be deeper (e.g., graphics or motherboard).

Step 2: Perform a BIOS Restore:

  1. Shut down the computer, and keep the charger plugged in
  2. Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
  3. Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
