(UpGrading To An External gpu)
Before we start, MY system specs
HP PROBOOK 650 G1
i5-4310M 2.7 ghz, 2 cores, 4 threads, 4 gigs of ddr3 1600 mhz. Intell hd 4600
There is no external gpu slot at all on the laptop, the cpu has intergrated graphics,
So yes the computer does have a pci wifi slot, in some youtube videos i have seen people attach there external graphics card to this slot.
So i have been looking around the internet, i tryed searching my model and see if it is possible to upgrade, so far no answears about my model anywhere, i checked google and youtube.
So my Question is can i upgrade my Computer using the wifi pci slot , for external graphics card on my laptop.
Now if i do upgrade my laptop graphics, my screen max resulution is 1366x768, can i play games on the external graphics card at that laptop monitor bandwidth.
Please leave a detail answaer, because a lot of people dont answear the question, and leave you confused. thank you

yes it will work with hp probook 650 g1, i had to figure this out for myself, the hp probook 650 g1 does have a mini pcie slot underneath it. you have to take the wifi card out, because the wifi card uses mini pcie, and yes its compatable with mini pcie x1. The tech supports and google dident have the answears i will leave this one up here for anyone searching google.
you wanna get any docking station that support min pcie, all of them will work with x1 on the mini pcie wifi slot

If you're planning for external GPU incorporation through PCIe slot of WiFi card for gaming - I'll strongly object to it as it may ultimately fry up your motherboard.
Please buy gaming notebooks like Omen series for this.
Theoretically it is possible to do in any notebook with mini PCIe wireless slot
But these are 1x PCIe. External graphic card needs PCIe 8x or 16x bandwidth.
In HP notebooks, the wireless card slot work most ideal with wireless card.

I am fine using my wifi slot, because i can just teather my phone via usb to laptop for internet. Now is it possible to attach an external gpu to this laptop and model hp probook 650 g1. i saw in videos of guys attachign the external graphics to a wifi slot, i was wondering if i have the rite slot, i checked everywhere all over the internet no clear answears, about this one. Because getting an external gpu adapter isnt expensive, its only 40 dollars, and yes i do plan on upgrading to 16 gb of ram latter, and yes my laptop does support 16 gb of ram, and 64 bit. i just have 32 bit on here at the moment, i wanna upgrade graphics card, becuase the cpu is fine, and ram is fine. i just want graphis, i can play skyrim at 800x600 at 60 fps , but on 720, or 1360, i get 30 fps or lower. I plan on playing other games. thank you for a responce, i just want it to work, so i dont have to go out and buy a gaming computer, this will save me alot of money and time. i do have a 1050 gtx in my closset, and plan on ordering a graphics card dock, i also have 400 wat power suply laying around. i am asking this question so i can order the rite part for my computer. thank you for replying
I just want a simple answear to my question, can i attach a external graphics card to my laptop, hp probook 650 g1, you did not answear the question, you said you recomend against it, thats not the answear i am looking for. i want to know if its possible, and if so, what connector , and docking station do i get. thank you
This wil be my last reply
i would like to have a detail answear if its possible, and witch one i get, because other people will google this same search result and get no answears to the issue. sorry i am not trying to be rude, my reply's kinda seem little rude ,but thats not my point, i just need answear, i wanna get this right the first time, and so far i can find anything on the net, i cant even find my own slots, or figure this out, i spent hours crawling the internet for answears and i have gotten none, i am very thankfull you replyed. i just need a clear answear thank you so much, not trying to be rude here. thanks

If you're persisting, the answer is yes it is possible. You can connect eGPU via mini PCIe slot of wireless card using something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Laptop-External-PCI-Graphics-Card/dp/B00Q4VMLF6
Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04823617

Still I would warn you that it'll eventually fry motherboard. WiFi slot is not meant for eGPU at all.

thank you for this reply, i will close this suppor ticket now, i did get mad at one the tech supports i dealt with because he had no clue. but hopefully this one will be up here for good for anyone using google. Because you will find nothing in google, about this subject anyway this is solved. hopefully this will be put in google search, and people will find solution to this same issue i had thank you very much. This support thread is also for the gaming community and anyone wanting to search the same issue i had not knowing if the computer will be able to do it.
