Hi @LdyTravler

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you've been tackling some persistent issues with your HP Victus 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop, but the Explorer.exe  memory error after uninstalling Hypervisor Platform can certainly be addressed.

Here’s how you can approach the problem systematically:

Step 1: Run an SFC and DISM Scan.

Corrupt system files could cause the memory error. Use the following steps to repair them:

Open Command Prompt as an Administrator (type cmd into the search bar, right-click, and choose Run as Administrator).

Type and run this command:

sfc /scannow

This will scan and repair corrupted system files.

Next, run:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This will fix Windows image issues.

Step 2: Reinstall Hypervisor Platform.

Since uninstalling Hypervisor Platform might have disrupted certain system components, you can try reinstalling it temporarily to see if it stabilizes the system:

Open Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features On or Off.

Recheck the box for Hypervisor Platform and click OK.

Restart the system and monitor for any changes. If it fixes the error, you can leave it enabled, even if unused.

Step 3: Check for Software Conflicts

Some programs, like virtualization tools or system optimizers, might conflict with Windows Explorer:

Boot the laptop into Safe Mode by holding Shift while clicking Restart, then choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Safe Mode.

Test shutting down in Safe Mode. If no error appears, a third-party app is likely the culprit.

Perform a Clean Boot to isolate the problematic software:

Type msconfig into the Start menu and open it.

Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services and click Disable all.

Reboot and test again.

Step 4: Adjust Virtual Memory Settings

Misconfigured virtual memory could trigger shutdown errors:

Open Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Performance Settings.

Under the Advanced tab, click Change under Virtual Memory.

Select Automatically manage paging file size for all drives, or manually set it based on your RAM size (recommended size: 1.5x your installed RAM for minimum, 3x for maximum).

Step 5: Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Visit the HP Support website to check for updated BIOS or chipset drivers for your Victus 15-fb1000. Installing these updates can help stabilize system hardware interactions.

Step 6: Check for Explorer.exe  Corruption

If the error persists, the issue might be tied to the Explorer.exe  process:

Create a new user account:

Open Settings > Accounts > Other Users > Add Someone Else to this PC.

Log into the new account and test to see if the error recurs.

Reset the Explorer.exe  process:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, locate Windows Explorer, right-click, and select Restart.
