@john-o, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

It's great to hear that you're successfully casting YouTube from your HP Envy laptop to your Fire Stick. Let's walk through how you can cast PBS videos and other content like the History Channel as well.

Since YouTube casting works:

That confirms your Fire Stick and laptop are on the same Wi-Fi network and that casting is functional.

For PBS and other websites (like History Channel):

These platforms may not have a built-in Cast icon like YouTube. But you can still mirror or cast your laptop screen using Miracast or Amazon’s Screen Mirroring feature.

Option 1: Use Miracast (Built into Windows 10/11)

Your HP Envy supports Miracast. Here's how to use it:

Enable Mirroring on Fire Stick:

  • On your Fire Stick remote, press and hold the Home button.
  • Select Mirroring from the menu.

Cast from your HP Envy:

  • On your laptop, press Windows + K.
  • Select your Fire Stick from the list of available devices.
  • Your screen should now be mirrored to the TV.

Tip: You can now open your PBS email, click the video link, and play it in your browser, it will show up on your TV.

Option 2: Use a Web Browser with Cast Support (like Chrome or Edge)

If the PBS or History Channel video plays in a browser tab:

  1. Open the video in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Cast.
  4. Choose your Fire Stick from the list.

This works best if your Fire Stick supports Google Cast or you’ve installed a compatible receiver app like AirScreen.

Optional: Use AirScreen App on Fire Stick

Since you mentioned installing AirPlay, you might already have AirScreen. It supports Miracast, Google Cast, and AirPlay.

  1. Open AirScreen on your Fire Stick.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable casting.
  3. Then use Windows + K on your laptop to connect.
