Product: HP Laptop PC 14-dq2000 IDS Base Model
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP laptop with two external HP monitors and for some reason, it will not read my monitors with the type c docking station. It will only read one monitor once I plug in the hdmi cable directly to my laptop. Is there something wrong with my Type C port? The docking station works fine with my work laptop. So I am stumped.

What is your HP Laptop PC 14-dq2000 IDS Base Model machine ? It should have same ports as the following machine

 

          HP Laptop 14-dq2045cl

 

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter
