I updated my laptop from Windows7 to Windows10 recently. I can play my DVDs with no problem. But cannot play any CDs. I am not sure if this laptop can play CDs at all, or do I need to install new software?
Thank you

This problem is often due to a lack of codecs that come with the MS built-in player.
My suggestion is that you ditch the built-in player and switch over to using the VideoLAN player.
It's free and has a lot more features than the MS player, and comes with all the common codecs preinstalled: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Good Luck

I think you got it backwards. Windows 10 by default has no support to play DVD by itself. So what DVD player software are you using? What kinda CDs are we talking about?

Then what software did you use to play the DVD?
