Hello, why do I can't connect my laptop to the projector? I had a presentation yesterday and I can't connect it to the projector using HDMI. It says "No Signal." Also, I can't connect the USB Type-C connecter to the Type-C phone, nothing appeared at all.

Hi @Levi43,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
HDMI Connection to Projector:
Check the Basics:
- Make sure both the laptop and the projector are powered on.
- Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the projector.
- Verify that the projector is set to the correct input/source for the HDMI connection.
Function Key for Display Output:
- On HP laptops, you might need to use a function key to toggle between display modes. Look for a key with an icon resembling two screens or "CRT/LCD." Press the "Fn" key along with the corresponding function key (F4, F5, F8, or another key with a similar icon) to cycle through display modes.
Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
- Ensure the correct display is selected and that the resolution and orientation are suitable for the projector.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website and download the latest graphics drivers for your laptop model.
USB Type-C Connection to Phone:
Compatibility Check:
- Confirm that your laptop's USB Type-C port supports video output (not all Type-C ports do).
- Ensure that your phone supports video output through its USB Type-C port.
Cable Quality:
- Make sure you are using a USB Type-C cable that is designed for video output.
Settings on Phone:
- On your phone, go to the settings and look for an option related to USB or display output. Enable any settings that allow video output through USB Type-C.
USB Type-C Port Configuration:
- Check the laptop's USB Type-C port settings. Some laptops allow you to configure the behavior of the USB Type-C port in the BIOS/UEFI settings.
Update Drivers:
- Make sure your laptop and phone have the latest USB Type-C drivers installed.
Try a Different Port:
- If your laptop has multiple USB Type-C ports, try using a different one.
Test with Another Device:
- If possible, try connecting your laptop to a different display or projector to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
