Hi @KareBear24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

May I know if the display flickering is in BIOS screen as well?

Screen flickering on a laptop after an OS update, like the one you've experienced with Windows 11, can be caused by various issues ranging from software compatibility problems to outdated drivers. Here's a step-by-step approach to troubleshooting and potentially fixing the issue:

1. Check for Updates

Ensure that your Windows 11 is fully up to date. Microsoft frequently releases updates that can fix bugs and improve system stability.

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
  • Install any available updates and restart your computer.

2. Update Display Drivers

The issue might be related to outdated or incompatible display drivers. Given the driver version you've mentioned (26.20.100.7926), it's worth checking for a newer version.

  • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters, right-click on your graphics driver, and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers. If a newer version is found, follow the prompts to install it.
  • Alternatively, visit the HP support website or your GPU manufacturer’s website (Intel, AMD, NVIDIA) to download and install the latest driver manually.

3. Adjust Visual Effects

Sometimes, adjusting the visual effects can alleviate flickering issues.

  • Right-click on Start and select System.
  • Go to About > Advanced system settings > Settings under Performance.
  • Choose Adjust for best performance or manually disable effects to test if this reduces flickering.

4. Check for Application Compatibility

Certain applications might not be fully compatible with Windows 11, causing display issues.

  • Try to notice if the flickering occurs with specific applications.
  • Update these applications or contact their support for compatibility information.

5. Use Windows Troubleshooter

Windows has built-in troubleshooters that can automatically fix some common problems.

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Video Playback troubleshooter.

6. Reinstall Display Drivers

If updating doesn't help, try completely reinstalling the display drivers.

  • Uninstall the display driver from Device Manager (as mentioned above), then restart your computer. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.
  • For a more thorough approach, use a driver cleanup tool to remove all traces of the driver before reinstalling the latest version manually.

7. Hardware Check

If none of the software fixes work, there might be a hardware issue with the display or graphics card.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
