Hi @George478,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding vertical lines on your HP X24ih FHD Gaming Monitor!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check the Cable Connections:

  • Ensure that the HDMI or DisplayPort cable is securely connected on both ends (monitor and computer).
  • Try using a different cable if you have one available, as the current cable might be faulty.

Test with Another Device:

  • Connect the monitor to a different computer or device to determine if the issue is with the monitor or the original computer.
  • If the monitor works fine with another device, the issue might be originating from the original computer's graphics card or port.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure that your computer's graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause display issues.

Check Display Settings:

  • Verify the resolution and refresh rate settings in your computer. They should match the monitor's specifications.
  • You can check and adjust these settings through the display settings on your computer.

Perform a Monitor Reset:

  • Refer to the monitor's user manual for instructions on resetting it to factory settings. This can resolve any incorrect configurations.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Inspect the monitor and cables for any signs of physical damage.

I hope this helps.
