My 2-in-1 HP Elite x2 1013 G3 touch screen suddenly stopped working. I bought it from a third party from best buy and everything was fine until the touch screen all of a sudden stopped working, after a couple of weeks of using it. I have a pen for the laptop that works perfectly fine. I watched a video to resolve it and tried to uninstall the HID-compliant touch screen from device management and then restarted my laptop and nothing changed also I tried the calibrate the screen for pen or touch input it also did not work. I have no idea what to do and I need help. if anyone is out there and has a solution, suggestion, or question, please reply to this post thanks.
Laptop specifications:

16.00 GB of ram
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8350U CPU @ 1.70GHz

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.
(1) In most cases, the simplest solution:
=> Use Windows Restore to return to the restore point before the error occurred.

Hey, Have you found anything new?
I also have an Elite X2 G3
i7 16gb
3kx2k res screen
I've had mine for ~2 years or less and the touch recently stopped working as well, but the Pen still works. Long story short, I've been doing a lot of troubleshooting, as well as spoke to Elite Support.
On the back of the LCD there is a "touch board." It has 1 cable going to the motherboard, and 2 going into the touch screen. I'm assuming 1 cable is for regular touch and the other is for the pen (it says WACOM by that connector). I've reseated the cables as well as unhooking the battery completely. No change.
I just ordered a cheap on on Ebay that has the same 3kx2k screen (it had a battery slightly puffing up, but I already have a spare battery). The listing said that it had no touch, which I was hoping would just be due to the battery. Nope, Took battery out and still no touch, except for the pen again. This seems to be a reoccurring theme, as I am seeing more listings online of X2 G3's with "no touch."
I'm still looking into things, new touch board's seem to be non existent for order. There are a few tiny capacitors on the touch board. I'm wondering if something with one of those has burned up.
FYI with the latest HP UEFI diagnostics, you can boot to a touch screen test before Windows loads and confirm its not a driver issue with Windows. I thought it might have been a driver issue at first too, because I would turn the touch screen off with my pen when I wanted to write.
