Product: HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 (4C803AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have a 15.6" PC15-d4000 laptop which I want to connect two large monitors to. I can only connect one. Apparently I need some kind of HP dock.

Your machine should be one of the following machine

For example

 

            HP Laptop 15s-fq4008TU

 

Its USB-C port is not suitable for a monitor. You can use

 

M1: HDMI direct cable

M2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

             https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

 

There are few (similar) of them on JB HiFi, Officeworks and other computer shops in Australia. All you need is to find an adapter with DisplayLink Certified. I bought the following one on eBay for A$70 to have more connectivity.

Thank you Banhien. However, my laptop does not appear to be listed and the people I've spoken to are not familiar with the DisplayLink Certification. But I think what you're saying is correct - my laptop is not configured to attach two external monitors to it. Thanks again for your reply.
