I use Elitebook x360 1030 G3 Notebook PC. It was running windows 11 before the official drivers were released (I was using Win 10 drivers then).
Suddenly after some months of use
- the touchscreen stopped working
- the mousepad works sometimes, (I noticed folding the laptop into tablet mode and back can make the mousepad work again).
- The "w" key also works sometimes, some other times the key presses by itself repeatedly (I use onscreen keyboard to input "w")
- the number lock key (f10) is always on even when the laptop is shut down
The problem actually started with the touchscreen and that's my biggest worry actually.
I have tried the following solutions
- downgrade to Win 10 and installed its official drivers
- Ran HP PC Hardware Diagnostic Windows when signed in to Windows and from the Boot menu, the touch didn't work in component test.
- Disabled and uninstalled HID-compliant touch screen driver in the Human Interface Devices. Now the driver is hidden (would need to show hidden devices in device manager to see it).
I have exhausted all possible fix ideas that I know of.
Any help to make the touch function of the screen work again will be much appreciated 🙏
