HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0096wm
Microsoft Windows 11

Hey guys,

I was just curious. I have a hp pavilion gaming laptop running windows 11 and they seem to have stopped sending updates to the intel uhd graphics 630 onboard graphic card. Though I'm having no issues with the card, Intel shows that it has an update for the card but it may alter some oem settings by hp. Is it safe to update the card or should I let sleeping dogs lie?

Hi:

Usually, it is safe to update the Intel graphics driver.

Here's what you can do...create a system restore point before updating the driver.

That way you can roll back to the current graphics driver if the 'roll back driver' option is grayed out in the device manager, just in case the updated driver does not work to your expectations.

Thanks. I think I'll give it a go.

You're very welcome.

I also wrote a knowledge base article about how to manually update the Intel graphics driver to the latest version on the Intel website...
