Here is the solution to resolve PCI Express Root Complex driver Issue Click here to view the instructions!

So looking into this I have the i7 4700MQ CPU @2.40 GHz

This not on list of valid products - the 3.40 GHZ is listed, but not the 2.40 GHz

This is not a likely solution for me, square peg and a hole and all that -

You other guys, your microprocessor running along similar line as me?

Best -

Mm... well I tell you what... I don't remember how I got to that link, I think I just looked up the intel video card model, didn't pay attention to the CPU model list on the intel site, but mine is the 2.4 as well and the driver worked perfectly, hasn't stopped working even once since the driver update.

My specs:

 Intel Core i7-4700MQ @ 2.4GHz

16gb ram

64 bit win10 pro

Go for it, in the last step that I posted, windows won't list the driver if it's incompatible (and therefore you won't be able to install it); the method that I posted is basically how we had to do in windows 95 and 98, when there wasn't many automated installers for drivers; and now the automated installers can be a little "too safe", like the intel one is... it will refuse to install not because it's not the right driver, but because HP hasn't yet (probably never will) said: "ok, you can update this driver on this laptop".

But again, since I'm using the same CPU as you, I can tell you that it will work...

Thank you LFLFM

This approach does make a lot of sense.

Eliminating the Installer test that HP has 'approved' the driver

My system is

     Intel Core i7-4720HQ CPU @2.60GHz

     64 bit Windows 10 Home Version 1511 Build 10586.104

     12gb GB Ram

I had tried to download the beta driver '4326' but using the installer it would not install.

Was looking at this beta driver as it was released after the Windows 10 1511 upgrade.

      Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10* [15.40]

Version: Beta 15.40.12.4326 (Previously Released) Date: 11/20/2015

Will  this weekend give this approach a try.
As we have all spent a lot trying different approaches, I thought I would try the beta '4326' driver first.

If does not work, I will try installing the '4300' driver referenced by LFLFM but released on Oct 16

Thanks agan LFLFM, appreciate your taking the time to provide this information

Thanks LFLFM.  I was able to update the driver just as you posted.  I will put it throught its paces and see if it stops the crashes.

I used the driver you listed, not the most recent beta.

I had tried the manual update previously, but your instructions were clear and easy to follow - THANK YOU!

Tried LFLFM's post and it worked for about 20 minutes and bingo the failure popped up.

The updated driver did not auto load but the method suggested to load it manually worked and has not caused other problems.

It does allow the test of drivers that were rejected before so the suggestions offered may help some with testing of various drivers to see if they work.

Good suggestion LFLFM

I updated using the release that LFLFM posted. I ran several hours without any issues. Normally, I would have the screen lockup several times. So, I am very pleased so far. I will post later - particularly if it stops working.

Good luck everyone.

I suspect the various types of processor's and versions of Intel hardware may be the reason this fix might not work on all computers. I tried a few more versions of listed patches on the Intel site and so far none have lasted more than a few minutes when looking at a web site that shows various images such as a graphic of a photo or scanned paper.

I also have the 3D options off and tried turning them on each time with no apparent difference in the error.

I also think this may be the reason why Intel and Microsoft has been extremely absent on this problem. It may be there are so many different hardware types in conjunction with the Win 10  upgrades they cannot find a single solution. Microsoft may be thinking they are too big to worry about the little users and cannot or will not address this with Intel. If you go to the Microsoft support site the circles given to users are numerous and seem to be useless. Asking users to post snapshots of their CPU versions do nothing. Suggesting they need to insure they have all updates also is a stall. They even suggest reloading the OS. Another stall:smileymad::smileymad:

OK I will keep trying and hopefully one of us will find a solution.

In reviewing Intel's support site, I saw that they now have a more recent BETA Display Driver,

Tsac has said that the previous ones discussed have not solved his problem.

I thought I would go ahead give this new beta a try

Will post again whether it works or not

Ended up reverting to 10.18.15.4268. Had may display issues and web display stall.

Will keep on trying.

I am not sold on the October drive success of LFLFM, just yet - but it has certainly improved the 'stability' in video streaming -

I am a cyclist, training indoors currently, so I use what is the called Zwift program, and other times I use a product called TrainerRoad, there is quite a bit of ant+ data transfer going on too with these programs - during my last two sessions, which were around 50 minutes each I did not experience a crash/freeze.

This week will be the test, sessions will be approaching 90 minutes, I will keep you posted if things go well...

Best -
