HP ProBook 440 G3 Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

Hi All,

I have a HP Probook 440 G3 laptop that is running on Windows 10 (64-bit) version 10.0.19045 build 19045. It's display adapter shows as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. The HP Support tool for device drivers and Driver Easy software all point to Intel HD Graphics 520 as the bundle that my laptop display should use. This is also the case when I run the detect tool from Intel website. Basis this, I downloaded the 980 MB "Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers" as indicate by Intel® Driver & Support Assistant. However, after the installation is done, the display keeps trying to recover from a blank (black) screen. I can see the mouse pointer. After some time, I get the BSOD with message saying VIDEO TDR FAILURE and stop code pointing to the file called igdmkd64.sys. To get back my screen in normal boot, I have to do a safe boot and rollback the driver for the Display Adapter to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Have tried a lot of suggestions, but it always ends up at the BSOD with Video TDR Failuer message. Please help in resolving this.

Regards.
