Hi @ShaWral,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Notebook 17-ca0014ds webcam issue may indeed be related to a Windows update. Error code 45 typically indicates a hardware device is no longer connected to the system, but in the case of an internal webcam, it could be due to driver issues.
To troubleshoot and resolve this:
Step 1: Check Device Manager for Webcam
- Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Locate Imaging Devices: Expand the Imaging devices or Cameras section.
- If your webcam is listed with an error (e.g., a yellow triangle), proceed to reinstall the driver.
- If the webcam is not listed at all, it may be disabled in BIOS, or there could be a hardware issue.
Step 2: Reinstall or Update Webcam Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click on the webcam device (if found) and select Uninstall device.
- Check the box that says Delete the driver software for this device, and then click Uninstall.
- Restart your computer. Upon restarting, Windows should automatically detect the webcam and reinstall its default driver.
Step 3: Install the Latest Driver
- Go to HP's official support website for your model (HP Notebook 17-ca0014ds).
- Search for the webcam driver for your specific model.
- Download and install the latest driver available.
Step 4: Rollback Windows Update
If the problem started after a Windows update, rolling back the update could resolve the issue:
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history.
- Select Uninstall updates and choose the most recent update to remove.
Step 5: Check BIOS Settings
If none of the above work, enter your BIOS/UEFI settings during startup and ensure that the webcam is not disabled in the BIOS.
If the issue persists after these steps, it could be a hardware issue, and it may be worth contacting HP support for further assistance.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
