Product: Example: Envy 17t
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
When trying to play a movie DVD, I am receiving the following message: Invalid Value for Registry. I am trying to play the DVD using sMedio True DVD for HP. The drive does play a music CD with no issues but I am unable to play a movie DVD.

Don't use apps from the MS Store, so I can't help you with problems with that app.
But what I do use is VLC and that provides its own CODECs and will play virtually any video format you can find.
You can get it for free from here: Official download of VLC media player, the best Open Source player - VideoLAN
Good Luck
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
