Hello, I was contacting support to ask if it is possible to trade in my laptop, or of there is any way to fix my laptop, the trackpad just stopped working one day, same thing with the camera, and it is slow as all get out. So, I just need some insight?

@Krodr, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Notebook 15-dy1023dx is experiencing multiple hardware-related issues. Here's a breakdown of what you can try to fix the trackpad, camera, and overall slowness:
Trackpad Not Working
Enable the Touchpad:
- Double-tap the upper-left corner of the touchpad. This toggles it on/off on many HP models.
Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Plug the adapter back in and power on.
Driver Update:
- Go to Device Manager → Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click the touchpad device and choose Update driver.
HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter diagnostics.
- Run the Mouse/Touchpad test.
Camera Not Working
If the camera is not showing up in Device Manager, try this
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- Open Device Manager.
- Click Action → Scan for hardware changes.
System Restore:
- If the camera worked previously, use System Restore to revert to a point when it was functional.
Internal Connection Issue:
- If the camera still doesn’t appear, it might be disconnected internally and may require servicing.
Laptop is Very Slow
Here are some general tips to improve performance:
Startup Programs:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Startup tab → Disable unnecessary programs.
Disk Cleanup:
- Search for Disk Cleanup in the Start menu and run it.
Check for Malware:
- Run a full scan using Windows Defender or another trusted antivirus.
Upgrade RAM or SSD:
- If your laptop has a traditional HDD, upgrading to an SSD can significantly boost speed.
Currently, we don't have any trade-in options or programs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
