This is the port my laptop has built-in and I wonder whether it could output video to my display through USB-C to DisplayPort.
1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge)
I assume it should be working, since there's "DP1.2" which most likely stands for DisplayPort, but when I did some research on this topic, I found out that only ports which support Displayport alternate mode, are capable of trasmitting video output.
So, now I'm bit confused and don't know who to trust, so I decided to turn to you, guys.
Thank you.

The Service Manual for that model series describes the USB-C port as follows:
USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C port (support data transfer, DisplayPort 1.2 out up to
4096×2304 (60Hz), HP Sleep & Charge)
So at least according to the Service Manual:
it has an alt-DP signal which means you should be able to use a passive (inexpensive) USB-C to DP adapter or with a USB-C to USB-C cable attach to a monitor that has USB-C input. USB-C to HDMI is less certain to work right.
It does not mean it is a Thunderbolt port however so would not support something like an eGPU. If you could give the full model number we can check against official specs for the secific model to gain further certainty but the Service Manual should be right.
Post back with any further questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you need.
