Screen / HDMI cable issues after using HP USB-C Dock G5:

I have a roughly 13 year old asus monitor VS247H. I have used it, by connecting it to my laptops via HDMI cable.

Recently I was given a HP USB-C Dock G5 for use at home. I connected the monitor to the dock via HDMI and have since connected to the screen via the dock.

However: When I wanted to connect the laptop to the screen again directly via HDMI cable and not use the docking station, the laptops no longer detect the screen.

This is a problem: I only have the docking station at my disposal for a limited amount of time. Furthermore, I have a new desktop PC, that does not go through the docking station, and there too, the screen is not detected.

This was not an issue before using the docking station.

HP USB-C G5 dock is NOT compatible with every machines. Is your machine compatible with the dock ?

Regards.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

Just to underline once more: Using the computers listed below, to connect to the monitor via the docking station is not the problem. This works just fine.

The problem is, that I now no longer can connect any of these computers directly to the monitor, using an HDMI cable.

If you say that the docking station is not compatible with every machine, what is meant by that in this scenario?

The machines I connected to the dock were a Lenovo X1 Yoga, a HP Elitebook 840 G9 (this is what the docking station came with) and a Lenovo T14.

Have a nice day.
