Hi @AnkushRajMaheYa

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an issue where pressing the right-side "Ctrl" button on your Victus by HP gaming laptop results in the backward slash ("") character being displayed, there are a few possible explanations and solutions you can try:

Keyboard Layout Settings: Check your keyboard layout settings in Windows 11. It's possible that the keyboard layout is set to a different language or region, causing the right-side "Ctrl" key to behave unexpectedly. To check and change the keyboard layout:

  • Open the Settings app in Windows 11.
  • Go to "Time & language" and select "Language" from the left sidebar.
  • Under the "Preferred languages" section, select your language and click "Options."
  • Make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected. If not, add the correct one and remove any unnecessary layouts.

Driver Update: Ensure that your keyboard drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
  • Locate the "Keyboards" section, right-click on your keyboard, and select "Update driver."

Keyboard Test: Confirm if the issue is hardware-related by testing the keyboard outside of Windows. You can do this in the BIOS or UEFI settings. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup by pressing the necessary key during startup (usually displayed on the screen). In the BIOS/UEFI, check if the issue persists when you press the right-side "Ctrl" key.

External Keyboard: If you have access to an external USB keyboard, try connecting it to your laptop and check if the issue persists. If the external keyboard works correctly, it might indicate a problem with the laptop's built-in keyboard.

Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system is fully updated. Windows updates often include bug fixes and improvements. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
