Hi @Razan-Naber,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion x360 laptop's keyboard and mouse work in the BIOS but not in Windows, it indicates that the hardware is functioning correctly, and the issue likely lies with the operating system or its drivers. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this problem.
Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve issues with hardware not working in Windows.
Check for Physical Damage: Ensure that there is no physical damage to the keyboard and mouse, such as loose cables or connectors.
Connect External Keyboard and Mouse: If you have an external USB keyboard and mouse, try connecting them to see if they work in Windows. If they do, it may suggest a problem with the built-in keyboard and touchpad.
Safe Mode: Boot your computer into Safe Mode to check if the issue persists. If the keyboard and mouse work in Safe Mode but not in normal Windows mode, it's likely that a third-party application or driver is causing the problem. You can then use the Device Manager to update or uninstall problematic drivers.
- To boot into Safe Mode in Windows 10 or 11, press the Windows key + R, type "msconfig" (without quotes), and press Enter. In the System Configuration window, go to the Boot tab and check the "Safe boot" option under Boot options. Restart your computer.
Update Drivers:
- Go to the HP support website (https://support.hp.com) and search for your laptop's model.
- Download and install the latest drivers for your keyboard and touchpad (if available).
- Additionally, update other drivers, especially chipset and USB drivers, as they can affect input devices.
Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, Windows updates include fixes for hardware issues.
System Restore: If the issue started recently after a software installation or update, you can try using System Restore to revert your computer to a previous state when the keyboard and mouse were working correctly.
Virus/Malware Scan: Perform a full system scan with your antivirus software to check for malware or viruses that might be affecting your system.
Check for Third-Party Software: Some third-party software, such as antivirus or system utilities, can interfere with the functioning of input devices. Temporarily disable or uninstall any recently installed software to see if it resolves the issue.
Hardware Troubleshooting: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with your laptop's internal keyboard and touchpad.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue of the keyboard and mouse not working in Windows on your HP Pavilion x360 laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
