I want to keep the keyboard lighting on as do so many others - I've done the root menu when you hold whatever F key, restart, go to advanced option and there was supposed to be an option / check box but not on mine

Youtube videos saying use the fn and f5 - all that does is cycle the bright dim off - the timeout still happens

And I've seen people write code, offer it and try to explain how to enter this code, that is both shady and risky and if I could figure it out still wouldn't do it

DOES HP NOT HAVE THIS RESOLVED YET ? I JUST WANT TO STOP THE TIME OUT FROM HAPPENING - KEYBOARD LIGHTS ON

please

And why is it when I want to stream video from the hdmi port to a tv - the videos freeze unless they are not full screen - plays on laptop but not the tv, tv freezes - tried different tv resolutions, different tv's - has to be something with laptop/ video settings, vid card - tried everything a normal user can do, help please ?

@chiefurb I hope you know that not all keyboards have an option to use the timeout feature by design, that's only available on limited devices, that said, here's all you need to know about using the backlight of your keyboard:

Toggle backlight settings:

If your notebook computer has a backlit keyboard, press the F5 or F4 (some models) key on the keyboard to turn the light on or off. It might be necessary to press the fn (function) key at the same time.

If the backlight icon  is not on the F5 key, look for the backlit keyboard key on the row of function keys.
