HP Recommended

I have an Omen laptop, about two years old. I haven't used it for about 10 months. Turned it on, and NO KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT. It's useless without the light as the letters are dark against a dark keyboard. I've tried the F5 key, restarting, etc. This is not a BIOS issue as the light NEVER comes on.

 

Please tell me that I don't have to PAY for a two-year-old machine to have its keyboard replaced. If so, I will never buy from HP again, because if so, it's a piece of crap.
