Keyboard light not working. I have tried everything: f5+fn, f5+space, fn+f9, fn+f10, etc. I have not spilled anything on the keyboard and have recently bought it about 3 weeks ago. The laptop has not been damaged. Would be very helpful if someone has a solution for this problem. Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are having concern with keyboard backlighting on your HP spectre notebook. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?
Have you tried to update the drivers either using Windows update or using HP Support Assistant.
Did you try to update the Bios?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
If you're not sure, please go through the support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Turning a Backlit Keyboard On or Off
In case if the keyboard backlight stopped working, I would suggest here is to Run Windows Updates troubleshooter -
Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.
Now try to perform Windows Updates -
1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest here is to update the Bios on your computer from HP Support Assistant Updates -
1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
