This solid state laptop worked ok last time it was used. turned it on and Windows was updating. When it restarted the keyboard does not work. None of keys register or change state. I can use wireless mouse to enable soft keyboard and this is only way I can use it. Laptop is less than 6 months old. Regards

Hi @Kat56 ,
Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
The Barachiel is at your service.
I understand you are in need of support,
I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:
Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
When was the last time it worked without these issues?
In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned on below:
Re-start the notebook, keep tapping F2, run a test with keyboard and let me know the results. 🙂
Please reply with the details for further assistance.
Eager to help!

Hi Brachiel,
Thank you for responding. I did not attempt anything before the post. The last time it worked was around 19th. It was noticed on 22nd after Windows 10 updates. Since then I have got help from hp via the device assistant (chat). Drivers Were Removed And Replaced, Bios Was Updated, H/w checks out - F2 On Startup Keyboard And Touch Pad. Conclusion Is Its Software Issue. Next Step Is To Go Back To Last Known Good Version Before The Upgrade.
This evening i ran hardware tests via Windows defender which showed driver error code 19 on keyboard and touchpad - this points to registry problem. Not sure if rolling back to previous version of software release will solve this. So there is an issue with the drivers even after downloading them. Did upgrade cause it or is it virus. I can a vast check and no turnaround so waiting on next step with hp.
Kind regards
Kat56
