Hello,

I recently purchased a HP notebook model 14 and noticed after using it for a while that the letters on the keys are fading away.

This is not due to dirt, i have tried cleaning them already. the paint is simply fading away.

It's becoming rather difficult to see which key is which, especially when there is less light.

I would like to know what is causing the fading and if there is a solution, since the computer is rather new and the fading started in the few weeks or so.

I understand that keyboard keys are fading.

Please provide the picture of the keyboard.

The camera takes so much light, that it is not clearly visible.

But in real the paint on the letters E A S Z is almost gone.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
