I have a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 book which came with a built-in windows 8, bought it way back in 2012 but its functioning well. Since I bought it, after running the updates, the LCD screen shifted to the left and there is a black ribbon border to the right of 2 inches. When I go into resolutions and advanced mode to see the available resolutions and refresh rate, it is fixed at 58 HZ and the required resolution of 1336 x 768 is not available, max resolution I have is 1280 x 800, and for that bottom task bar also clips. At time it happens to be a fluke that it is able to detect the correct resolution and refresh rate of 60HZ, otherwise the problem persists. I have installed latest Intel Graphics drivers and even updated Bios and what not, nothing has happened. I had restored my PC back to windows 8. Even after that, the screen remained same however once, in a fluke, it was able to restore back to normal but then again shifted back after couple of reboots. Does it have to do with the Display Cable ? I have replaced the LCD screen aswell but the same issue persists.
After looking at all the available solutions on the web and youtube, nothing has worked, I feel it might be the cable has become faulty and not able to transfer display properly. Please help. Its a lovely laptop.

I understand your concerns.
In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
Have a nice day!!

I feel so proud that I have an HP product whose support HP has stopped providing. The main reason is that your crappy laptops have inherent incompatibility issues with windows. This was the last time I would be purchasing an HP laptop, better to go with high end line-up rather than wasting money on crappy products you guys are offering with zero support. Don't blame everything on Covid-19, so many people complaining they have this resolution issue and their display being shifted.

The drivers are available from HP for Windows 8 operating system. As you have upgraded your computer to Windows 10 there is no drivers available for the upgraded operating system.
Below is the link for the Windows 8 drivers for your computer.

Meanwhile, are you facing the same issue in the BIOS screen as well?
Keep me posted.
