Hello! I am having a black screen problem while playing games on the laptop I bought. The laptop shuts down by itself and goes to the lock screen or sleep mode. At this time, the keyboard lights are flashing.Hundreds of users in Turkey are experiencing the same problem.I contacted your technical support. They did a remote scan and no hardware problems were found! All software drivers are up to date. Bios is up to date! Nvidia display drivers are up to date. Windows drivers are up to date. Fix this **bleep** problem with a new update and give a clear answer to this email for the solution. I'm fed up.I can't use my laptop properly for which I paid so much money! I'm having problems! And no one is helping!!!!

Hi @Sinanpunk, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Your HP Victus 16-S0047NT shutting down to a black screen with flashing keyboard lights while gaming could indicate overheating, power management issues, or a hardware failure. Here are some steps to diagnose and resolve the problem:
Check for Overheating
- Monitor Temperatures: Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check CPU/GPU temperatures.
- Clean Fans & Vents: If overheating, clean dust from fans and vents using compressed air.
- Adjust Performance Mode: Set cooling to "Best Performance" in HP Command Center or BIOS.
- Limit FPS & Lower Settings: Reduce FPS using NVIDIA Control Panel or lower game graphics settings.
Adjust Power & Sleep Settings
- Open Control Panel > Power Options and set to High Performance.
- Disable "Fast Startup" under Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- In Windows Settings > System > Power & sleep, set "Turn off screen" and "Sleep" to Never while plugged in.
Check Event Viewer for Errors
- Type Event Viewer in the Start menu.
- Go to Windows Logs > System and look for Critical Errors at the time of shutdown.
Run System Diagnostics
- Turn off your laptop.
- Press F2 while turning it on to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run a System Test (especially for GPU, CPU, and Memory).
Update NVIDIA & Windows Settings
- In NVIDIA Control Panel, set power management mode to Prefer maximum performance under Manage 3D settings.
- In Windows Device Manager, right-click the Display Adapter > Properties > Power Management, and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
Check for BIOS & HP Firmware Updates
Even if your BIOS is up to date, try reinstalling it from HP website.
Try a Clean GPU Driver Installation
- Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
- Boot into Safe Mode and use DDU to completely remove NVIDIA drivers.
- Restart and install fresh drivers from NVIDIA’s website.
Disable Hardware Acceleration
- In Chrome, Discord, and other apps, disable Hardware Acceleration under settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
