@xMamaKat13, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check HDMI Cable and Port:

  • Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the monitor.
  • Inspect the HDMI port on the laptop and monitor for any visible damage or debris.

Select Correct Input Source on Monitor:

  • Confirm that the monitor is set to the correct HDMI input source.

Adjust Display Settings on the Laptop:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Multiple displays and select Detect to see if your monitor is identified.

Use Windows + P Shortcut:

  • Press Windows + P to open the Project menu and select appropriate settings such as Extend or Duplicate.

Graphics Driver Rollback:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button.
  • Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics driver, and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and choose Roll Back Driver if available.

Try Another HDMI Cable or Monitor:

  • Test with a different HDMI cable or use another monitor to rule out hardware issues.

BIOS Update:

  • Check HP Support website for any BIOS updates specific to your model that may address HDMI issues.

Also, refer to this guide: HP PCs - Troubleshooting HDMI display and sound issues (Windows 11, 10) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
