Hi @Bhanu_Shankar,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.
To help me understand the situation better, could you please share a bit more information?
Please let me know:
1. Screen Behaviour
- When the screen doesn’t turn on, do you see any backlight or faint images, or is it completely black?
- Does connecting an external monitor show any display when this happens?
2. Power & Battery
- Are you using the original HP charger?
- Does the laptop behave the same on battery only?
- Any blinking lights or beeps when trying to power it on?
3. Overheating
- You mentioned it heats up — does the fan spin loudly, or does the laptop feel hot on the keyboard/base?
- Does it shut down immediately when overheating occurs?
4. Recent Changes
- Any Windows updates, driver updates, or software installations in the past month?
- Has the laptop been physically impacted (dropped, bumped, or liquid exposure)?
5. Troubleshooting Steps to Try
- Power Reset:
- Disconnect AC, hold the power button for 15–20 seconds, then reconnect and try turning on.
- External Monitor Test:
- Connect via HDMI or USB-C display output to see if the laptop works but the screen is faulty.
- Boot in Safe Mode / BIOS:
- Try entering BIOS (F10 at startup) to check if the screen works without Windows.
- Cooling Check:
- Ensure air vents aren’t blocked, and fans are running. Overheating can cause shutdowns.
Could you provide:
- Whether the screen is completely black or faintly lit when it fails to turn on.
- If an external monitor shows anything during the failure.
- Exact behaviour of fans and heating when it shuts down.
- Any recent software or updates before this started happening.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Hii @Deep_World
Sorry for the delay in replying, As you mentioned in the previous conversation regarding screen behaviour, 1) I observed that after pressing the power button I only find keyboard or body part is working but I didn't see screen getting turned ON , after trying 4 to 5 multiple attempts screen turns ON . I didn'nt observed any backlight or faint images aswell where it is completely Black , While Using the laptop in between the entire screen suddenly turned with White and Black Dots and I pressed power button to turn it OFF , .and 2) regarding battery i didn't find any issues where i am using original HP charger 3) And yes for over heating the fan spins little loudly for certain period and felt hot on the keyboard/base and Before this issue i checked the drivers and updates in HP support application in my laptop . and recently my laptop(Screen) Turned ON after not utilizing it for 2 weeks
