Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!
HP Recommended

When I use Google Meet on my browser (whichever browser I use, Microsoft Edge), Commit by Perplexity. Whenever I use Google Meet, the screen starts to display errors. The cursor becomes an eraser, and the entire screen becomes laggy. Black lines fill the screen. Sometimes the cursor even acts like an eraser, it erases everything on the display. Sometimes the laptop also hangs. Many times the Copilot tabs that I have opened show the entire screen as "not responding." This is a 16 GB RAM laptop still I am facing such issues. Tell me why?

Hi @anuraag2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing display issues when using Google Meet on your HP laptop. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve these issues:

1. Update Your Web Browser

  • Ensure that the browser you are using is updated to the latest version. This can resolve compatibility issues with web-based applications like Google Meet.

2. Check Your Internet Connection

  • Use a network speed test application to make sure that your internet connection is stable and fast enough for video conferencing. HP provides instructions for using the Network Speed Test app, which can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store Here.

3. Update Graphics Drivers

  • Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page to download and install the latest drivers for your laptop model. Follow the instructions to identify and update your graphics drivers.

4. Disable Unnecessary Extensions

  • Disable any browser extensions that might interfere with the functionality of Google Meet, such as ad blockers or privacy extensions.

5. Clear Your Browser Cache

  • Clearing your browser cache can help resolve many display-related issues. Go to your browser settings and clear browsing data, including cached images and files.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
